Society History
The guild was started in 1974 by a trio of spinners led by Deloria Chapin, a well known local spinning teacher. It was named for the Cherry Valley Turnpike (Route 20), not the town of Cherry Valley near Cooperstown.
Meetings were held in Cazenovia at different locations including the First Presbyterian Church and Lorenzo’s South Cottage.
